Touhou: A Tale of Fire and Ice (東方: ファイアとアイスの物語)

A Cooperative Touhou Shmup

Join Yuki and Mai on their journey where they fight their way through makai and perhaps glance upon the world outside! Team up with one of your friends to knock your way through a whole bullet hell stage in online co-op and go for highscores while doing so. Select between two difficulties to accommodate both you and your friends. This game was made as an entry for the touhou pride 2023 game jam and was worked on over the two week jam period given.

CONTROLS

Movement: arrow keys, wasd /// (Joypad) left stick

Shoot: z, e, p, o /// (Joypad) Right Bumper / R1

Focus: left shift, right shift /// (Joypad) Left Bumper / L1

Bomb: x, c, q,  space,  i /// (Joypad) Y / Triangle

Suggested Control Layouts:

Standard Shoot them up: z, x/c, left shift, arrow keys

Controller: left stick, LB, RB, Y

Spicy: wasd, io, space

How to Play

Move around to dodge oncoming projectiles, don't let it hit the black dot on your character. You have 5 lives shared.

When things gets dicey, use bomb to clear all projectile, this abilities can be used twice for each player and restores when someone gets hit.

Shoot fairies to accumulated score, grazing: the act of being close to a projectile without being hit also grants score.

Due to time constraints our vision was not met and some features had to be dropped

• A server browser. (Assuming we find a place to host a server browser long term)
